Directions: I-17 North to Camp Verde, exit 285, turn left on to AZ 260. Travel NE on
AZ260 for 25 miles to US 89A in Cottonwood following the signs to Tuzigoot Monument.
Turn left on AZ 89A and go NE for 8 miles on Main St. Turn right on FSR 999 (Tuzigoot
Rd). After crossing the Verde River bridge, turn left onto Sycamore Rd (FSR131). Go East
for 12 miles to the trail head parking lot.
Weather – Low 40s to Mid 70s. Check updates prior to the outing. Plan accordingly.
Distance: 3.5 mi to camping area.
Cost – $10 for gas
Meals – Saturday, bring a lunch for the trail. Dinner as a patrol, Sunday breakfast as a
patrol.
Water Source: There is plenty of water along the route. Need to bring ways to purify
water shared among crew.
Return: Approx. Noon on Sunday. Scout will call parents with updated arrival time
