MEAL PLANNING:

Friday Dinner – the drivers will be stopping in Camp Verde for dinner, so Scouts can bring money for dinner or pack a dinner to eat.

Saturday Breakfast – Scouts will eat by Patrol, breakfast will be “no cook” to aid in departure time for hike, for example Bagels, dry cereal bars, fruit, etc.

Saturday Lunch – Scouts should pack individual trail lunch for themselves as they will be eating sometime along the river as the troop decides.

Saturday Dinner – Scouts will eat by Patrol, a good dinner meal.

Sunday Breakfast – same as Saturday Breakfast, “no cook” as Scouts will be departing early and quickly for the return to Phoenix

MEALPLAN SUMMARY: Patrols / Patrol Grubmaster should be coordinating 2 “no cook” breakfasts and dinner. Each Scout should have money or planned vehicle food for Friday Dinner, plus 1 lunch for Saturday.  Scouts should also have enough nutritious snacks for the hike to maintain their energy.

Additional Comments: The weather forecast is partly sunny with highs in the low 90’s and lows in the 60’s.  Attire on the river is swimsuit and river sandals or other appropriate water shoes.  Use a good sunscreen and bring plenty of water.  The campground has no water or restroom facilities so please consider this when planning. Please wear your troop uniform for the trip up and back.
