We will bicycle along the Indian Bend Trail.
We will meet up at 11209 N Tatum Blvd, Phoenix, AZ 85028.
Anasazi Plaza parking lot area. This is in the northwest part of the parking lot of the commercial complex at the corner of Tatum and Shea (Staples, Bed Bath and Beyond, Burger King, etc.). We want to start promptly at 8:00 AM, so please arrive no later than 7:45 so that we can make sure that everyone is accounted for and adequately ready.
Each scout must have:
A bicycle in excellent working order. If the bicycle has not had a tune-up in a year, now is the time to do so.
Bicycle helmet (no exceptions) that fits correctly.
Water. Each scout should have at least 1 liter of water.
Troop 818 T-shirt.
Parents are welcome to ride along with us.
We will need at least six parents to assist us with this.
The first two will be stationed at Venturoso Park to stay with the scouts while their parents pick them up. The second two will be stationed at Paradise Valley Park for the same reasons. The fifth should be two parents with a truck that can follow along and provide assistance should a scout need to be picked up due to catastrophic bicycle failure, extra water, etc. By having six parents, we can maintain the two-deep structure required by the Boy Scouts of America.
There will be two stops along the way:
The first is at Venturoso Park at Acoma and the 51. The second stop would be Paradise Valley Park Union Hills and 40 the street, in the field opposite the pool. This will allow riders the opportunity to be picked up at two different distances, based on their respective abilities.
Regardless Paradise Valley Park is our final destination. Please make sure that you are able to pick up your scout within 15-20 minutes of their contacting you for pick up. The parent volunteers are there for scout assistance, not as rideshares.
