Troop 818 would like to welcome all the 2017 Crossover Scouts !

In order to help make the transition from your Cub Scout Pack, to your new Boy led troop as smooth as possible we are planned an outing just for you. Your Troop Guide’s Devon Merritt and George Mersiowsky will be your patrol leaders and help you prepare for the outing.  They will instruct you on what to pack, how to meal plan, and introduce you to the Patrol method and patrol box.

We are meeting at St. Bernadette’s church on Saturday May 6th @ 7:30AM.

Bring $15 for gas and park fees. We will head north toward Flagstaff and take exit 337 south on Highway 89A for about 9 miles then turn right (west) on FR535 to find a campsite for dispersed camping.

After setting up camp, we will take a short ride down to the West Fork Oak Creek trail for a 5 mile hike. It’s a beautiful hike through the canyon, crossing the stream numerous times. Bring a trail lunch and snacks.

Back at camp, plan on cooking a glorious dinner, and enjoy a campfire as long as fires are allowed.

Get some sleep, then have breakfast as a patrol in the morning. We should be back to the church by noon on Sunday.
