Back by popular demand, the Scouts will enjoy Sking and Snowboarding at Sunrise Ski Resort in Pinetop,AZ. The outing is appropriate for scouts of all skill levels. Lessons will be provided, and adult leaders will be available for training and assistance, great for 1st timers. The cost is $175 per scout which includes all equipment and helmet rentals, lift ticket, gas money,(2) nights lodging at the Greer Peaks Resort and most meals. Scout will need to bring sack dinner for Friday night and sack lunch for Saturday on the slopes, or cash to buy his own meals.
Outing Plan:
Assemble at St. Bernadettes Church then depart Friday February 10th @ 4:00PM – Eat fast food in Pinetop (176 miles) around 8:00PM, rent helmets from Snowriders Board and Ski Shop @ 857 E White Mountain Blvd. Pinetop (928)367-5638. Drive another 46 miles to Greer Peaks Resort @ One Main St. Greer.
Saturday: Up early @ 5:45AM, the Resort will provide breakfast then travel to Sunrise Ski Resort by 8:00AM to rent equipment and enjoy a fun filled day on the slopes. Troop will provide pizza dinner back at the resort. Lights out 10:00PM.
Sunday: Up and out. The resort is providing breakfast. We need to return the helmets in Pinetop by 9:00AM. Should be back to the church in Scottsdale by 1:00-2:00PM.
Packing list:
1) Sleeping bag and pillow
2) Bathroom items and towel for shower Saturday night.
3) Warm clothes and ski clothes.
4) Nalgene style water bottle and healthy snacks.
5) Cash for dinner/lunch and incidentals at the Ski Resort.
