Next outing will be 4-9-22 to 4-10-22, kayaking down the Verde river. Due to an unexpected last minute
cancellation of the Salt water rafting trip due to low water levels, we will be migrating the April outing back
to the Verde river.
We will depart St Bernadette’s on Saturday morning at 10am, drive to our Otterlimits campsite
along the banks of the Verde river. Scouts will have free time Saturday afternoon to explore the
river, possibly fish, have books signed off on, and be outdoor scouts.
Scouts should prepare to eat a picnic lunch on Saturday afternoon, cook as patrols on Saturday
evening and then cook a patrol breakfast before breaking camp on Sunday morning on our way
to the kayak outfitter.
Kayaks will do a group launch at 10am Sunday morning and be off the water by 12:30 or 1pm.
Group will wait for all scouts to be off river and then hold RBT before driving home.
Scouts should bring money or snacks for a fast food stop on the way home.
Scouts who have attended Summer Camp last year, will be ok to attend this outing. Scouts who have not
attended a water based outing this year will need to do a swim check to be held at Cactus Pool with a
date and time TBD. Cal Carlson, Matt Clifford, and Michael Kunze can administer the swim check.

by 04 th April 2022.

o We need to have it done right away so we know we are set for the Kayak outing. We will
need this for every scout and every adult attending to confirm the trip. Your scout may
not be able to kayak if we do not have this waiver.
o When you have completed the waiver, please print out the email you receive that
shows you have completed it and turn it into Anitha (Mrs. G) via email or at the
Troop Meeting
The cost will be approximately $105 kayak rental, life vest, gas and campsite fee included. Final cost
dependent on attendance. The payment is non-refundable. Please pay by cash or cheque or venmo or
scout account.
