MINING OUTING:
Depart: Friday at 5pm from the St. Bernadette Parking Lot (show up at 4:30 to help load the Patrol Boxes, etc.).
Camping: We are “car camping” at the Catalina Council (Tucson area), Double V Scout Ranch. This is a Scout camp similar to our Heard Pueblo.
Saturday Morning: We will be heading out to the Asarco Mine Tour
Saturday Afternoon: Returning to the Double V Scout Ranch to continue our activities with an afternoon 5 mile hike for the Scout Rank Requirement
Saturday Night: Troop Campfire Event and Night Games
Sunday Morning: Clean up Campsite and return to St. Bernadette’s Church (expect by 12:30ish)
MEAL PLAN:
- Friday night will be on the road, so Scouts should bring money or bring a premade dinner
- Patrols will cook (and meal plan) for Saturday Breakfast, Saturday Dinner and Sunday Breakfast
- Saturday Lunch will be individual sack lunches to eat during the Mine Tour
- Scouts will be planning their meals as usual within their patrols and will have their Patrol Box.
COST:
- $30 (covers Gas and Tour Fee)
- Plus be sure to reimburse your Patrol (Grubmaster) for your Meal Cost
- Plus any money for Friday night meal and the Mine Gift Shop
MERIT BADGES:
- This outing will cover many of the requirements for the Geology and Mining in Society Merit Badges. Mr. Allender who is attending this outing is a Merit Badge Counselor for these achievements if you want to earn them, be sure to request a Blue Card.
